The Artistic Society "La Vall" de Cárcer, (Valencia), was founded in 1892. Although there are some uncertain data confirming this date, as presented in the research of Raúl Carbonell in his book of the 125th anniversary of the society, supposedly it's first musical activity with musicians, goes back to the year 1870 with Mariano Arquiola as the teacher and, it is in the year 1892 when it begins its activity as a municipal band. Therefore, last year 2017 was celebrated brilliantly, its 125th Anniversary.
In the Overture Concert of the events commemorating this institutional event, held on April 1st 2017, the Society was awarded with the Gold Medal of the FSMCV, being the President of the Federation Pedro Rodríguez Navarro, who gave this recognition , in a very emotional act for all the neighbors of Cárcer.
It is important to emphasize the distant history, as much as the principles: in the decade of the 40 and 50 two directors, one of them an illustrious person of Cárcer and a great composer, Antonio Rodríguez Castellano, and the much-remembered Francisco Olmos, with whom the band won many awards, highlighting the first prize of the 2nd Section of the International Competition of Valencia in the year 1944; In the 70s and 80s, under the baton of the two most awarded directors, José María Alba Llàcer and Amadeo Mateu Nadal, first and second prizes were awarded in the Valencia Provincial Council Contests and the Valencia City International Contest:
YEAR: (1.975) - 2nd PRIZE 3rd Section INTERNATIONAL CITY OF VALENCIA COMPETITION - Director: José Maria Alba Llacer
YEAR: (1,984) - 1st PRIZE 2nd Section INTERNATIONAL CITY COMPETITION OF VALENCIA - Director: Amadeo Mateu Nadal

After the Centennial, in the year 1993, a very young director, Azael Tormo Muñoz, took place, beginning to give the band a modern and hopeful tone, in tune with the young staff.
We must highlight the work of maestro Nicolás Esteve Colomina, who planted some seeds by developping the Youth Band, currently with more than 65 seats, directed by our current musician, teacher and vice president, Joaquín. Ramón Cardona Carbonell. Our Youth Band frequently participates in Contests of its category, obtaining, very important prizes, Contest Aulos Beniarrés (Alicante), first two (2.016) and (2.018), the Contest of Alcacer (Valencia) with a 2nd prize in the year 2.014. In the year 2.007 the 2nd prize of the 2nd section is obtained in the Contest of the Provincial Council of Valencia.
In May of 2012, and after a selection process, the director and composer of Albaida, Juan Carlos Sempere Bomboí, was nominated director. A few months after taking possession of the SAM, he obtains the first award under his baton, obtaining the 2nd prize of the Ciudad de Murcia Band Contest. It is followed on June 8, 2013 by the second prize in the First Festival of Music of Agost (Alicante). In the year 2016, with frenetic activity, and effort from the musicians, they participated with meritorious performances in the contests of the Diputación de Valencia and the Cullera Film Music Contest, obtaining the second and third prize, respectively. On January 13, 2.017, year of the 125th Anniversary, our current director FILIBERT MIRA ORTEGA takes his place. He had great expectations and was very excited about this new project, making his first concert on April 1, 2.017, coinciding with the Concert of Overture of the 125th Anniversary, a splendid concert, hopeful and enjoyed by all the attendees. Artistic Society "La Vall" de Càrcer, currently has a workforce of 120 places, between its two bands. At present, and since 2015, the Board of Directors of the Company has been presided by Vicente M. Juan Dasí.
Our society is the cultural engine of our Municipality: Càrcer, with 2,000 habitants approximately province of Valencia (SPAIN), a Valencian town, like so many others, where love and love for music culminates in the band tradition of having its own band, with a school of learners as an inexhaustible source of new musicians to continue with this important cultural and social tradition. The musical and cultural activity of our band throughout the year is very extensive, participating in acts and festive celebrations, concerts and other musical activities, as much in our town as in other towns and cities of the Valencian Community.
